OBITUARY

January 20th 2016

It is with the deepest sorrow that we break the untimely and accidental death of Yitbarek Alemu (class of 1969, yellow house).

He died in a tragic accident while supervising a deep excavation job for a project he was undertaking when landslide occured and was buried under the debris, nearby his birth place in Bedele town.

The funeral took place at Yeka Michael church on January 20th 2016 in the presence of Wingaters.

It is with deep sorrow we share the news about sad demise of Alemayehu Mekonnen (Ingliz) on December 26; 2015, who was under medical treatment in the USA.

The funeral will take place in Ethiopia and we shall announce the exact city, day and time.

LET US PRAY FOR THE DEPARTED SOUL TO REST IN EVERLASTING PEACE.

Professor Shiferaw Berhanu, Temple University has recently been elected a Fellow of the prestigious American Mathematical Society (AMS). This fellowship recognizes his outstanding contribution to the advancement of mathematics. This is a well-deserved honor.

Tegegnework who was UNDP Assistant Secretary General and Regional Director of the Bureau of Africa (from 2009 -2013) and currently Under-Secretary for General Assembly and Conference Services is now appointed by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon as Under-Secretary-General and Associate Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)- two big posts in UN combined in our man.
